Merry Christmas frame

My husband and I made my mother-in-law a picture frame for Christmas this year.  I was at a complete loss for what to do until Christmas Eve.  I took a great picture of the four generations – great grandma, mother-in-law, hubby, and son – in front of our Christmas tree.  From there I got my inspiration.

Frame for Virgene

I used the Calligraphy Cricut cartridge set at 4 inches for the Merry Christmas.  I cut the shadow in green and the top in red.  The 2011 is cut at 2 inches.  I made the tree using the rounded triangle from George and Basic Shapes Cricut cartridge.  The triangles were cut at 3, 2 1/2, and 2 inches.  I put them together with glue dots and used brads as the ornaments.  I adhered it to the frame with pop dots.  It turned out so well I am going to make a couple more for myself and my mom!

David’s Frame

One of David’s Christmas presents is a frame with a picture of David and Ethan from September.  I like the paper that was used.

It was a pain to try to center the mat on the paper and I still didn’t quite get it right. I could use any hints on how to do that.
